Posting limits & Best practices

Posting at the right time and following platform rules is the best way to grow your audience.

Timing is Everything

Posting when your audience is online helps you beat the algorithm.

For audiences located on the US East Coast, optimal posting windows are typically defined as:

  • Morning (5:00–8:00 AM EST)

  • Lunch (12:00–2:00 PM EST).

  • Evening (7:00–10:00 PM EST)

Within the "For You" algorithm framework, social media platforms prioritize content based on initial engagement metrics. Implementing a strategic posting schedule during peak user activity periods is a proven tactic to substantially increase the probability of attaining enhanced visibility and higher engagement rates.

TikTok

  • The recommended daily posting volume ranges from 15–30 videos, though this may vary based on account-specific factors. A strict rate limit of 2 videos per minute is enforced across all accounts.

  • Post captions are limited to 2,200 characters

For new accounts

If your account is brand new, start slow to avoid being flagged as a bot:

  • Wait to post: Stay active (watch and like videos) for 48–72 hours before your first post.

  • Warm-up week: Post only 1 video per day for the first week.

  • Space it out: Keep posts at least 3–4 hours apart.

Video Limits

  • Max video size: 4GB.

  • Length: 3 seconds to 10 minutes

  • Thumbnail: Supported

YouTube

  • To post, you must be the Owner of the YouTube channel. Vizard cannot connect to channels if you only have "Manager" permissions.

  • If you don't have a channel yet, create one here: http://m.youtube.com/create_channel

  • Title fields are restricted to a maximum of 100 characters. Post captions may contain up to 5,000 characters. Both titles and captions support all standard characters with the exception of the < and > symbols.

Video Limits:

  • Max size: 4GB

  • Shorts must be less than 3 minutes with 1:1 or 9:16(Recommended) ratio.

  • Thumbnail: Not supported

Good-to-knows:

  • Due to API limitations, you must be logged into Google as the owner of the YouTube channel to connect it to Vizard. Unfortunately, we are not able to connect to a YouTube channel if you are set as a Manager of the brand account.

  • Depending on a creator’s location, a channel might be able to increase its daily limit by getting access to advanced features. To learn more, visit this article.

  • We recommend limiting videos to a maximum of 10 posts per day on new accounts to avoid being flagged as spam.

Instagram

  • You must use a Business or Creator account.

  • You can post up to 50 Reels every 24 hours.

  • Post captions are limited to 2,200 characters, with a maximum of 30 hashtags allowed per post.

  • Pro-Tip: If you see an error message when posting a Reel, check your Instagram app first. Sometimes the video posts successfully even if an error pops up.

Video Limits

  • Max size: 400MB.

  • Length: 3 seconds to 15 minutes

  • Max resolution: 1080p

  • Ratio: 4:5 or 9:16 (Recommended)

  • Thumbnail: Supported

X / Twitter

  • For the best reach, we recommend using an X Premium account. Free accounts often see much lower views.

  • Post captions are restricted to a maximum of 280 characters.

    • If your text is almost at the 280-character limit, avoid using links or ending a paragraph with a . period. Twitter adds hidden code to these, which can push you over the limit and make your post fail.

  • While the hard limit is 100 posts a day, we recommend staying under 20 videos daily to keep your account healthy.

Video Limits

  • Length: 0.5 seconds to 140 seconds

  • Max size: 512MB

  • Thumbnail: Not supported

Facebook

Posting via the Facebook API requires linking to a Facebook Page. Personal accounts cannot be connected. If you have trouble connecting to Facebook, check out the troubleshooting guide.

You can connect multiple Facebook Pages; each Page counts as 1 social account in Vizard.

  • Maximum 2200 post characters

  • 25 Posts per connected Facebook Page within any 24-hour period. This is a hard limit.

Video Limits

  • Max size: 1GB.

  • Duration: 3 seconds-1 hour

  • Thumbnail: Supported

LinkedIn

  • The post accepts up to 3,000 characters. Post published via API supports all standard characters with the exception of \, (,) symbols.

  • LinkedIn limits 150 posts per day. This is a hard limit.

  • LinkedIn must be reauthorized every year via the Social Accounts page.

Video Limits

  • Max size: 5GB

  • Length: 3 seconds to 30 minutes

  • Thumbnail: Supported
