Fixing issues with posting on connected Instagram and Facebook accounts: Quick solutions for common problems.

Updated over a week ago

This article is for users who want to connect Instagram to Vizard. To make it work, Instagram needs to be linked to a Facebook Page.

We'll guide you through the setup process, which is slightly more complex than other social networks. It's crucial to follow the steps in order to identify any connection issues. Skipping steps may prevent Vizard from connecting your channel.

1. Checking settings in the 'Professional Dashboard' (In Facebook)

To connect or update your Facebook Page (linked to your Instagram account) in Vizard, it is necessary to have admin access with Full Control for that Facebook Page.

  1. Open your Facebook Page, make sure you are logged in to Facebook with your Page account, not your personal profile.

  2. Click 'Professional Dashboard' in the menu on the left.

  3. Click 'Page Access' in the menu on the left.

  4. Click your name and a popup will appear. It should indicate that you have full control by displaying the message "This person has full control."

    1. If you don't see “This person has full control", you'll need someone on your team with full control to adjust your permissions.

    2. If you don’t see your Facebook profile name listed, it’s likely that your team is using Meta Business Suite and you’ll need to check the settings in Meta Business Suite to continue.

2. Checking settings in 'Meta Business Suite'(In Facebook)

    1. If you have multiple Business Suite accounts, first click on the account for the Facebook Page you’re trying to access.

    2. If you don't see the Business Suite account, it means that you do not have the proper admin setup with Full Control for that Business Suite. In such cases, we recommend reaching out to your team member for assistance.

  1. Under the Accounts section in the left-hand menu, click on 'Pages' and look for your name in the list. Make sure that the setting Full control: Everything is enabled.

  2. Click on 'People' under the Users section in the menu on the left and ensure that your name is added to the list, and that you have the setting Full control: Everything is toggled on.

3. Checking your permissions (In Facebook)

  1. Log in to your Facebook personal profile account and make sure your account has admin access with Full Control on the Facebook page.

  2. Go to Business Integrations in Facebook.

  3. Find Vizard in the list and choose View and Edit

  4. Select all boxes.

  5. Click Save.

4. Checking your Instagram account type (In Instagram)

Before connecting Instagram, ensure that your channel is set up as a professional account, such as a business or creator account.

  1. Go to your Instagram profile and tap in the upper right corner.

  2. Tap Settings and privacy.

  3. Select Account.

    • If you are migrating from a personal account, choose Switch to professional account and tap Creator.

    • If you are migrating from a business profile, choose Switch to creator account.

5. Checking connection between Facebook and Instagram (In Facebook)

After confirming that your Instagram account is a business or creator account, proceed to verify that your Facebook Page is correctly linked to Instagram within your Page settings and Meta Business Suite.

  1. Log into Facebook, then switch into the Page your Instagram account is connected to.

  2. Click ‘Professional dashboard’ in the menu on the left

  3. Click ‘Linked accounts’

  4. You should see your Instagram account with 'View details' and 'Disconnect account'

  5. Other cases:

    1. If you see 'Connect account' button, it means your Instagram account is not linked to your Facebook page. Please click 'Connect account' and follow the prompt to complete the Facebook page and Instagram account connection.

    2. If you see 'Get started' button, you will need to convert your Instagram account to a business or creator account.

    3. If you see 'Review connection' button, its connection needs updating. Click 'Review connection' and follow the prompts to review and update your connection.

6. Checking your permission between Facebook and Vizard (In Facebook)

Another possible cause of connection issues is missing permissions between Facebook and Vizard. In the process to connect Instagram and Facebook, we're required to show a list of permissions that are granted to Vizard. Here's how to check the permission:

  1. Log into the Facebook personal profile that has admin access with Full Control on the Facebook Page.

  2. Click on the small drop-down arrow at the top right of your screen and then click Settings & privacy > Settings.

  3. Find Vizard in the list and choose View and Edit

3. Scroll down to the list of the Pages and ensure that ALL boxes are selected.

4. Click Save

5. Try reconnecting the account in Vizard
